ROCK PLAN TO PLAY NEXT HOME GAME WITHOUT FANS
Oakville, ON – The Toronto Rock announced today that the team plans to play its Saturday, January 15 home game against the Halifax Thunderbirds without fans in attendance at Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre, pending final approval from local officials. This is a result of recent provincial guidelines returning Ontario to a modified Stage 2 of reopening.

We are surprised that Dawick would move ahead and play a home game with no fans in attendance.
While the NHL, and NBA can get away with no fans in the building. NLL teams cannot.
December Attendance
A total of 113,536 fans attended nineteen NLL games during the month of December for a league wide average of 5,975 fans per game.
No NLL team was able to break the 10,000 attendance mark during the month of December, not even once.
Philly is averaging 3,912 through two home games and Buffalo had 7,395 for their lone home game in December.
Again another disappointing December for NLL attendance, but we imagine COVID 1984 is playing a large part in keeping fans at home and watching on ESPN and TSN.
Or maybe the NLL has failed to recognize the changing attendance habits of its fans, which COVID 1984 has only magnified. .

Reduced capacity
Found this gem during our travels around the interwebs.
Will the NLL be reducing capacity for the upcoming season? According to one Halifax season ticket, the answer is YES.
Ty Shrum
I’ve been in touch with my season ticket rep. He explained how the situation in Halifax will work.
They’re allowed up to 2500 fans in the arena (holds just over 10k). Going to be spread out into individual “bubbles” throughout the arena.
Hey at least New York, will not have an issue meeting reduced capacity requirements.
