Some tidbits from the Forbes article.

Some of the bubble concepts have been repurposed, such as “enhancements for the experience for the at-home viewer,” including second-screen options, as well as integrating sports betting into the broadcast.

The league’s relationship with the Riptide is a crucial one.

“Having a professional team there obviously is critically important to us,” Berman said. “From a business perspective, having a team in the New York metropolitan area is hugely important because media partners and sponsors, many of whom are based in New York City, are able to observe and learn about the NLL through the performance of the Riptide.

“We work very closely with the Riptide to use their game experience,” she added, “to expose potential partners or investors, expansion owners, etc. to the NLL and to box lacrosse.”

If the NY Riptide are critically important to the league. Maybe the league should work with the Riptide on getting fans in the stands.

Couple more tidbits on Las Vegas

The club, which doesn’t yet have a name or a home venue, will be the NLL’s 15th franchise when it debuts in the 2022-23 season.

Though financial terms weren’t released, Tsai said that the all-in cost, including the expansion fee and operational runway, will be in line with the recent price for the Saskatchewan Rush. That club, according to people familiar with the matter, sold for more than $10 million.

“There’s a galvanized group of owners who feel very good about the league’s next five to 10 years,” he said. “The league is looking for a major media deal. We can take the league to the next level in terms of national sponsorship. Crypto, sports betting—there are a lot of commercial opportunities the league can expand into.”

Now our only question is this.

Can NLL Vegas survive in what is quickly becoming an oversaturated sports market in Las Vegas?

NLL awards 15th franchise to Vegas

The tweet was short on details which you can find HERE

And Joe Tsai will own and operate the yet unnamed club. Tsai currently owns and operates the San Diego Seals as well.

Now does this mean Govett gets to run two NLL clubs at the same time? (Just kidding, we hope)

Seriously though the league could not get Golden Knights owner  Bill Foley to bite?

Got to wonder though given recent franchise transactions. How attractive is the NLL to outside investors?

Rochester and Buffalo share the same ownership and now San Diego and Las Vegas will share the same ownership group.

For a league trying to gain acceptance in the mainstream, this is not a good look not a good look at all. But anyway,

Welcome to the NLL Sin City Lacrosse..
