Attendance Week 5

Another weekend another mixed bag as far as attendance goes in the NLL. While the league will publicly say they are happy with the New York attendance. Behind closed doors its probably a different story.

12 of 13 NLL teams have played at home and the league average attendance is a disappointing  7,665 after five weeks. Only the Philadelphia Wings have yet to play a home game.

Maybe starting the season over Thanksgiving weekend was NOT the best idea after all? Or maybe fans have found other things to occupy their time.  Either way the NLL needs to figure it out.

Buffalo 13,576
Calgary 11,352
Georgia 5,724
New York 6,089  ( Mostly season ticket holders?)
Rochester 5,036
Vancouver 6,125

Box Score

Attendance 6,125

Brodie Merrill scored 1:49 into overtime to give the San Diego Seals a 11-10 win against the Vancouver Warriors. The OT victory marks the Seals first win of the season.

For the trivia buffs this was the last game of the decade for the NLL. Where the hell does the time go.

Delayed Start

The Wings / Necks game got pushed back to a  10:23 face off. Due to the Roughnecks only arriving at the arena about an hour before face off due to travel issues.

Rush 9 Riptide 4

Box Score

Attendance 6,089

Only 6,089 to see the NLL return to Long Island. Disappointing but expected.

This is not what the league and the Riptide were expecting when the NLL came back to New York with the Riptide getting blown out of the building.

The Rush opened the game on a six goal run and and put it on cruise control the rest of the way.

Robert Church had four goals and one assists for the Rush and Evan Kirk had 44 saves.

Looks to be a long season on the Island.
