The National Lacrosse League has issued a summary of discipline following a review of Week 2 incidents occurring on Saturday, Jan. 10.
New England Black Wolves defenseman Mike McNamara has been assessed a one-game suspension for leaving the team’s bench at the end of regulation and entering into an altercation between New England’s Brett Manney and Rochester’s Sid Smith. A Game Misconduct penalty was called on the field, and upon league review of the incident, the ruling is upheld and McNamara has been suspended one game for violation of Leaving Players Bench or Penalty Box (Rule 96.2).
Rochester Knighthawks defenseman Paul Dawson received a Game Misconduct penalty which was upheld as a result of Dawson being assessed two major penalties in one game (Rule 38.2) while Game Misconducts (Rule 80.16) assessed to Rochester’s Sid Smith and New England’s Kevin Crowley were both rescinded.
